1960 Sammy Rimington became a professional musician. By then he started with the band of Ken Colyer. In 1965 he moved to the States. There he played with all the famous old masters. After he came back to Europe, he formed his own band and brought over many of the old musicians from New Orleans to play here. He toured Europe, Australia and had great trips to Japan with Louis Nelson. From the many sessions he played in Switzerland, I recorded some. Here is now vol. 3 with a selection of these recordings. We have chosen tunes that Sammy played often but that were never on a CD before. This is for instance the old Mexican waltz “Over The Waves” that became a jazz tune through George Lewis. Then we included songs with two wonderful singers: Juanita Brooks and Elaine McKeown. We hope that you buy this CD, listen to it and have as much fun as the musicians had while they were playing.
